Gland bushing
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001705
A cylindrical component, typically made of brass or a durable polymer, that fits inside a stuffing box to support and guide a polished rod or valve stem. It provides a smooth, low-friction surface for the reciprocating or rotating shaft to move against while being contained by the packing material. The gland bushing is a replaceable wear item, and its inner diameter must be precisely matched to the shaft's outer diameter to maintain alignment.
