Gridding
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001753
The process of dividing a continuous spatial domain such as a reservoir into a discrete set of cells or blocks. This discretization is necessary for numerical simulation and modeling, since properties are assigned to each cell. Grids may be structured, like Cartesian and corner-point grids that keep an i, j, k cell index, or unstructured, like Voronoi (PEBI) grids that use arbitrary connectivity.
