Holdup depth

The depth in a wellbore at which a tool or piece of equipment being run into the hole encounters an obstruction and can no longer advance. This obstruction could be a collapsed section of casing, a buildup of scale or sand, or a mechanical issue with downhole completion equipment. The holdup depth is recorded in the well file and is distinct from the total depth of the well.
