Holdup
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001838
The fraction of the cross-sectional area of a pipe or wellbore occupied by a specific fluid phase, such as oil, gas, or water, at any given moment. It is a dynamic measurement reflecting the in-situ volume of each phase under flowing conditions. Holdup values are dimensionless and range from 0 to 1.
