Homogeneous
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001846
Describing a rock formation or reservoir with uniform physical properties, such as porosity, permeability, and lithology, across its entire extent. In a homogeneous reservoir, fluid flow behavior and rock responses to drilling or production are consistent, simplifying reservoir characterization and simulation. This contrasts with heterogeneous formations, where properties vary significantly from point to point.
