Homogeneous formation
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004354
A rock layer or reservoir where the physical properties, such as porosity, permeability, and mineralogy, are uniform throughout the volume of interest. In well test analysis, a homogeneous reservoir exhibits a characteristic pressure derivative response that is flat during radial flow. This idealized model serves as a baseline for identifying more complex reservoir behaviors like boundaries, fractures, or layering.
