Hydrothermal
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001923
Relating to the action of hot water, especially in the formation and alteration of minerals and rocks. Hydrothermal fluids, often heated by magmatic activity, circulate through the Earth's crust, dissolving and precipitating minerals. These processes can create ore deposits and alter reservoir rocks, impacting their porosity and permeability.
