Injection water

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001993

Water forced into a reservoir to support pressure, sweep hydrocarbons toward producing wells, or serve as a carrier for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) chemicals. The water must be treated to prevent damage to the formation, such as plugging pores or causing clays to swell. Treatment processes include filtration to remove suspended solids, deoxygenation to inhibit corrosion, and biocide addition to control microbial growth.
