Inverse filter
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002028
A digital signal processing tool designed to reverse the effects of a known filtering process on a recorded signal. It attempts to deconvolve the signal, effectively removing distortions introduced by the measurement system or the propagation medium. In seismic processing, an inverse filter can be applied to remove the wavelet signature from the recorded trace.
