Layer cake geometry

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002130

A simplified geological model of a reservoir where rock layers are assumed to be horizontally continuous, parallel, and uniform in thickness over large areas. This conceptual model is often used in early-stage reservoir characterization due to its simplicity. It contrasts with more complex models that account for faulting, folding, and lateral facies changes.
