Meter slippage

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002336

The phenomenon in positive displacement meters where a small amount of fluid bypasses the measuring elements without being registered, leading to an underestimation of the actual flow volume. This occurs due to clearances between moving parts and can be influenced by fluid viscosity and pressure. Meter slippage contributes to the meter's inaccuracy and is accounted for by the meter factor.
