Orifice meter

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002642

A differential pressure flow meter that measures fluid flow rate by creating a pressure drop across a precisely sized opening (orifice plate) inserted into a pipeline. The pressure difference is proportional to the square of the flow rate, which is then used to calculate the volumetric flow. Orifice meters are widely used for measuring gas and liquid flow in the oil and gas industry due to their simplicity and reliability.
