Monkeyboard

A platform located high in the derrick or mast where the derrickman works during tripping operations. From this position, the derrickman latches onto and guides the top of the drill pipe stands as they are run into or pulled out of the wellbore. The monkeyboard is equipped with safety lines and a racking system for storing drill pipe.
