Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002430
A shallow, cased hole in the rig floor, typically located near the rotary table, used to temporarily store a single joint of drill pipe or a drill collar. This allows for quick and efficient addition of new pipe to the drill string during a connection. The new joint is picked up from the mousehole and stabbed into the box end of the drill string.
