Rotary table

A rotating platform on the rig floor that provides the primary means of rotating the drill string in conventional rotary drilling. It drives the kelly bushing, which in turn rotates the kelly and the entire drill string. Modern rigs often use a top drive instead of a rotary table for rotation.
