Rotary drilling

A drilling method that uses a rotating drill bit to cut and crush rock at the bottom of a wellbore. The drill bit is attached to a drill string, which is rotated from the surface by a rotary table or top drive. Drilling fluid is circulated to cool the bit and remove cuttings.
