Parametric
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002701
Describing a method or model that relies on a finite set of parameters to characterize a system or data. In seismic processing, parametric inversion uses a predefined functional form for subsurface properties, such as velocity or impedance, and then estimates the coefficients of that function. This approach contrasts with non-parametric methods that do not assume a specific model structure.
