Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002702

A relatively conformable succession of genetically related beds or bedsets bounded by marine-flooding surfaces or their correlative conformities. It represents a progradational or aggradational package of sediments deposited during a relative sea-level rise and subsequent stillstand. Parasequences are fundamental building blocks in sequence stratigraphy, typically ranging from meters to tens of meters thick.
