Parasequence boundary
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002703
A surface that separates genetically related strata, representing a marine flooding surface or its correlative conformity. It marks an abrupt increase in water depth and forms the top of a parasequence. These boundaries are key for subdividing sedimentary successions into smaller, more manageable units for stratigraphic analysis.
