Parasequence set
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002704
A succession of genetically related parasequences that form a distinctive stacking pattern, often bounded by major flooding surfaces or their correlative conformities. These sets reflect larger-scale changes in accommodation space and sediment supply, indicating specific stages of sea-level rise or fall. They are fundamental building blocks for constructing sequence stratigraphic frameworks.
