Systems tract
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003745
A set of contemporaneous depositional systems linked by sediment transport that makes up one part of a depositional sequence and forms during one phase of relative sea-level change. The standard tracts are lowstand, transgressive and highstand, with a falling-stage tract added in some schemes. Each is bounded by key surfaces such as the sequence boundary, the transgressive surface and the maximum flooding surface.
