Peptized clay
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002731
Clay particles that have been dispersed into a stable colloidal suspension within a drilling fluid, rather than remaining in an aggregated or flocculated state. This dispersion is achieved through the action of peptizing agents that reduce inter-particle attractive forces. Peptized clay contributes to the fluid's viscosity and filter cake formation.
