Deflocculated mud

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000978

A drilling fluid treated with chemical deflocculants to reduce the attractive forces between clay particles, resulting in a dispersed system. This type of mud exhibits low viscosity and gel strength, which facilitates the removal of drilled solids and minimizes pressure losses in the circulating system. It is often used in deep wells or formations with reactive clays.
