Reservoir communication
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003116
The condition where fluids can flow between different wells, wellbores, or distinct zones within a reservoir due to natural or induced pathways. This flow is confirmed when a pressure change or fluid injection in one well (the active well) causes a measurable response in a nearby observation well. The time and magnitude of the response are analyzed in interference tests to determine reservoir properties like permeability and storativity between the points.
