Residual bend
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003123
The permanent curvature or set that remains in a coiled tubing string after it has been repeatedly spooled and unspooled from a reel. This plastic deformation occurs due to the stresses induced during coiling and uncoiling. Excessive residual bend can make it difficult to run tools downhole and can reduce the fatigue life of the coiled tubing.
