Scotch yoke
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003275
A mechanism that converts rotational motion into reciprocating linear motion, or vice versa, using a slotted yoke that engages a pin on a rotating wheel. The pin slides within the slot, causing the yoke to move back and forth. This design is commonly employed in valve actuators, particularly for quarter-turn valves, due to its compact size and high torque output at the end of the stroke.
