Silicate mineral

A mineral containing silicon and oxygen as its primary components, often with other elements such as aluminum, iron, magnesium, or calcium. These minerals form the largest and most common group in the Earth's crust, including quartz, feldspar, and clay minerals. Their presence in reservoir rocks and shales influences rock properties and drilling fluid design.
