To drill a wellbore section without rotating the drill string, using only the downhole motor to turn the bit. This technique allows for directional control, enabling the driller to steer the wellbore in a specific direction or maintain a desired inclination. Sliding is a common practice in horizontal and highly deviated wells to achieve target reservoir sections.
