To place a small, specific volume of fluid at a precise location within the wellbore. This procedure is performed to deliver a treatment fluid directly to a problem zone, such as placing a high-viscosity pill to clean the hole or a freeing agent around a stuck pipe. The volume of the spotted fluid is calculated to cover the target interval with minimal contamination or dilution.
