Tensile strength

The maximum stress a material can withstand when subjected to a stretching or pulling force before it begins to fracture or break. This property is a measure of a material's resistance to being pulled apart. For drilling fluids, it relates to the integrity of the filter cake and its ability to prevent formation damage.
