Treating iron
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003914
A system of temporary, high-pressure pipes, swivels, elbows, and other fittings used to connect pumping equipment to a wellhead for stimulation, cementing, or other high-pressure treatments. These components are assembled on location to create a flow path for fluids pumped from surface units, such as fracturing or cementing trucks, into the wellbore. The individual sections are joined by hammer unions and are pressure-rated for the specific operation, with ratings frequently ranging from 5,000 to 15,000 psi.
