TWT
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003961
The abbreviation for two-way traveltime, which is the total time elapsed for a seismic wave to travel from a source, reflect off a subsurface interface, and return to a receiver at the surface. This measurement is a primary input for seismic data processing and interpretation, allowing geophysicists to determine the depth of geological layers. It is measured in milliseconds (ms) and is directly related to the velocity of the seismic wave through the subsurface.
