Velocity shot measurement
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004024
A technique used in production logging to determine fluid velocity by injecting a small, distinct 'shot' of a tracer or a fluid pulse and tracking its movement with downhole detectors. The time taken for the shot to travel between two known points allows for the calculation of the average fluid velocity. This method is effective for localized velocity determination.
