Vibrator

A heavy vehicle-mounted device used as a seismic source on land, which generates seismic waves by vibrating a baseplate against the ground. It produces a controlled, swept-frequency signal over a specified time interval. Vibrators are commonly used in seismic exploration to create repeatable and adjustable seismic energy.
