Wellbore storage effects
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004151
The phenomenon where the volume of fluid within the wellbore itself affects the early-time pressure response during a well test. As the well begins to flow or is shut in, fluid is compressed or expanded within the wellbore before the reservoir response dominates. This effect masks the true reservoir behavior and must be accounted for in analysis.
