Brim
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000045
A single-layer, flat perimeter of material printed around the base of a 3D model on the build platform, extending outwards from the part's footprint. This feature increases the surface area of the first layer, enhancing adhesion to the build plate and reducing the likelihood of warping or lifting. Brims are typically easy to remove after printing.
