Allantoic stalk
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000411
A narrow, tubular connection that forms during embryonic development, linking the allantois to the hindgut. This structure facilitates the transfer of waste products from the embryo to the allantois, which serves as a repository for excretory substances and contributes to gas exchange. In humans, the allantoic stalk is incorporated into the umbilical cord.
