Amniochorionic membrane
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000497
A composite fetal membrane formed by the fusion of the amnion and chorion, which encloses the amniotic fluid and the developing fetus within the uterus. This membrane provides a protective barrier and facilitates nutrient and waste exchange between the mother and the fetus. It ruptures during labor, releasing the amniotic fluid.
