Arborization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000765
The characteristic branching pattern of nerve cell extensions, such as dendrites and axons, resembling the branching of a tree. This complex structure allows a single neuron to form synaptic connections with a large number of other neurons, facilitating communication within the nervous system. The extent and complexity of dendritic arborization are directly related to the amount of information a neuron can receive.
