Back titration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001070
A titration method where an excess of a standard reagent is added to the analyte, and the unreacted excess is then titrated with a second standard reagent. This technique is employed when the direct titration of the analyte is difficult, slow, or when the endpoint is not easily detectable. The amount of analyte is determined by subtracting the excess reagent from the initial amount added.
