Back scattered electrons
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001069
High-energy electrons from an incident beam that are elastically scattered out of a sample during electron microscopy or microanalysis. These electrons originate from deeper within the sample compared to secondary electrons. Their detection provides information about the atomic number and topography of the sample surface.
