Bell-Evans-Polanyi principle
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001180
A principle stating that for a series of related reactions, the activation energy is linearly related to the enthalpy change of the reaction. This implies that more exothermic reactions tend to have lower activation energies. It provides a qualitative understanding of reactivity trends in chemical reactions.
