Compensation effect
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002304
A phenomenon observed in chemical kinetics where changes in activation enthalpy and activation entropy for a series of related reactions or processes are linearly correlated. This relationship suggests that factors increasing the activation energy also tend to increase the pre-exponential factor. It is often described by an isokinetic relationship.
