Branchial
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001478
Relating to the gills or gill-like structures found in aquatic organisms, or to the pharyngeal arches in vertebrate embryos. These structures are involved in respiration and the development of head and neck components. In humans, remnants of the branchial arches can sometimes lead to congenital anomalies such as branchial cysts.
