Chain carrier
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001833
A reactive intermediate species that propagates a chain reaction by reacting to form another reactive intermediate. These species, often free radicals, atoms, or ions, are consumed in one step and regenerated in a subsequent step. Examples include hydrogen atoms or hydroxyl radicals in combustion reactions.
