Cluster determinant
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002145
A set of related antigens that together make up one marker on the surface of a cell and that antibodies bind. It is an older and looser expression that should not be confused with cluster of differentiation, the numbered CD system, such as CD4 and CD8, that classifies leukocyte surface molecules by the monoclonal antibodies that recognise them.
