Cultivation

The process of propagating microorganisms, cells, or tissues by providing the appropriate environmental conditions and nutrients for their growth and multiplication. This is performed in vitro using liquid, semi-solid, or solid media such as agar plates or cell culture flasks. Cultivation is a foundational technique in microbiology and biotechnology for isolating, identifying, and studying biological entities or for producing specific biomolecules.
