Diastereomeric ratio

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003138

The ratio of the amounts of two diastereoisomers in a mixture, expressed as a quotient of the larger quantity to the smaller one. For a mixture of diastereoisomers A and B, where the mole fraction of A is xA and B is xB, the ratio is given as xA:xB or xB:xA, with the larger value first. This ratio is a key measure of stereoselectivity in chemical reactions.
