Diastereoisomerization

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003137

The conversion of a chemical substance into one of its diastereoisomers. This process involves changing the configuration at one or more, but not all, of the stereogenic centers in a molecule that has multiple stereocenters. Epimerization, the change in configuration at only one of several stereocenters, is a specific type of diastereoisomerization.
