Difference spectroscopy

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003163

A general spectroscopic method where the spectrum of one sample is subtracted from the spectrum of another, or a spectrum recorded under one set of conditions is subtracted from one recorded under different conditions. This highlights spectral features that change due to a specific perturbation or difference between the samples. It is widely applied in UV-Vis, IR, and NMR spectroscopy.
